What does the term Front Range refer to? The term Front Range actually refers to a mountain range that begins in Wyoming and works its way down to middle Colorado. The range contains some of Colorado’s most notable peaks and most gorgeous scenery and served as a sign to travelers that they had made it out west back during the pioneer days.
What are the components of the Front Range? The Front Range is made up of the Eastern Slope, the Western Slope and the Urban Corridor. The Eastern and Western slopes surround the area on either side and are home to the gorgeous mountains, while the Urban Corridor contains cities such as Boulder, Denver and Pueblo. The two slopes are responsible for the mild, wonderful weather these Colorado cities receive, as the mountains tend to block out any major storms or aggressive weather fronts.
